Privacy policy

True Trade Cost is run by BarGuard AI Inc, based in New Brunswick, Canada. This page says what we collect when you visit the site or buy a calculator, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what's needed to take your payment and get you your file, and nothing else.

When you visit the site

The site is plain pages with no accounts and no sign-in. We don't run advertising or tracking cookies. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser type) for a short time to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We also use Vercel's visitor analytics, which counts page views and button clicks without cookies and without identifying you; it keeps no personal data about you.

The demo videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube doesn't set cookies until you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.

The free rate calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type in are not sent to us.

When you buy a calculator

Checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address, your name and billing details, and your card number. We never see or store your card number. Stripe shares with us your email address, the product you bought and the amount, so we can deliver your file, send your receipt and handle any refund.

We use your email address to:

• send you the download link for the file you bought
• answer when you write to us about your order
• tell you about a corrected file if we find a problem with one you bought

We don't send marketing email and we don't sell or rent your details to anyone.

Who handles your data for us

• Stripe for payment, receipts and fraud checks.
• Vercel hosts the site and the download service, and counts visits (no cookies).
• Resend sends the order email with your download link, if that email is turned on.
• YouTube plays the demo videos.

Each of these keeps data in its own systems, mostly in the United States, under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Order records (email, product, amount, date) stay in Stripe for as long as we need them for accounting and tax, which in Canada is generally seven years. Emails you send us are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable time after, so we can help if the same question comes up again.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. To do any of these, email support@truetradecost.com. We answer within a few business days. Under Canada's PIPEDA you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we've handled your information badly.

Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
