True Trade Cost

Terms of sale

Last updated October 6, 2026

These are the terms for buying and using a True Trade Cost pricing calculator from BarGuard AI Inc (“we”). By buying one you agree to them. They're written in plain words on purpose.

What you're buying

A spreadsheet file (Excel format, which also opens in Google Sheets) for one trade, with a short setup guide. It is a one-time purchase, delivered as a download right after payment. There is no subscription, no app and no account. Updates to the file, if we make any, are free: write to us and we send the latest version.

Your licence

You get a licence to use the file in your own business, on as many of your own computers as you like, for as long as you like. You can change it to suit your business, and send quotes and reports made with it to your customers.

You may not:

  • sell, give away, share or publish the file, or anything made from its formulas, as a product of your own
  • share the download link or the file with other businesses, including friends in the same trade
  • remove or alter our name from it and pass it off as yours

One purchase is one business. If you run two separate companies, buy a copy for each.

What the calculators are, and are not

The calculators do arithmetic on numbers you type in. The results are only as good as your inputs. They are a tool to help you price work, not advice. We are not accountants, tax advisers or lawyers, and nothing in the files or on this site is accounting, tax or legal advice. Check tax rates, rules and anything with legal weight with a professional in your area.

The example numbers in each file (labelled as a made-up company) are there to show how it works. They are not market rates and shouldn't be used as your prices.

Refunds

Because a download can't be returned, sales are final unless something is wrong with the file. The full rule, and what to send us, is on the refund policy page.

Payment

Prices are in US dollars. Payment is taken by Stripe at checkout. Where we are required to collect sales tax, it is shown at checkout before you pay. Your card statement shows “TRUE TRADE COST”.

Our responsibility

We've taken care to make the formulas right, and we fix any that aren't (see the refund policy). Beyond that, our total responsibility to you for anything to do with a file is limited to what you paid for it. We are not responsible for lost profit, underpriced jobs or other losses that come from decisions you make using the numbers, since those depend on your inputs and your judgement. Nothing here limits any rights the law gives you that can't be limited.

The website

The guides and articles on this site are general information for trade businesses, written in our own words. They aren't advice for your situation. We may change or remove pages at any time.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of New Brunswick, Canada. If something goes wrong, email support@truetradecost.com first; nearly everything can be sorted out by sending a corrected file or a refund.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. The terms in force when you bought apply to your purchase.
